CRYSTAL COVE

This morning when I woke up, I felt like this past weekend went by so fast and it was probably one of the most relaxing weekends I had in a while. It all started Friday afternoon with a photo safari with some friends down at Crystal Cove in Newport Beach, then on Saturday a few of us went to see Anjelah Johnson and she was really funny. Sunday wrapped up my weekend with a photo session that I will be sharing later this week.

I couldn’t believe that I didn’t really update my twitter and facebook all weekend like I normally do. I guess you can call it a twitter/facebook vacation! But now I’m back in action and I’ll make sure I update often this week. That’s all I got for now, but here are some photos I took from Crystal Cove.

1,000,000 SEPIA TONES AND COUNTING

Happy Friday everyone! Ok I was going through a bunch of my photos from Brian and Annie’s Wedding a few weeks back and the one thing that always makes me change my mind, faster than me changing my decision on what to eat every night, is the sepia tones. The fact of the matter is that I love them all. I can’t get over how some tones just makes certain photos change the mood and feel. There are probably over a 1,000,000 sepia tones out there, but at this moment, I’m really loving the warmer tones. I’m pretty sure my mind hasn’t been made up yet, but at least there are many many options.

BACK TO THE EAST COAST I GO!

There’s nothing I enjoy more than heading back to my home town, seeing some familiar faces and eating at the same spots i’ve eaten at for years growing up. This trip back home in a few weeks will be nothing different, but I sure hope it’s not going to be cold. You all know how much I hate the cold now. That’s the spoiled, 80 degree everyday, sunny California guy talking, don’t mind him.

I’m actually heading back East to photograph 2 engagement session with 2 special couples. 1 of them will be in my home town of Connecticut and the other 1 will be in my 2nd home town of Boston. Connecticut has certainly changed since I moved away as well as Boston, so I’m looking forward to it!

Here’s my schedule for those interested in meeting up for a little get together. I’m planning a lunch or dinner for my Connecticut and Boston peeps. Leave a comment below if you’re interested in meeting up. And yes, we’re going back home to do some wedding planning too. I hope we get something done this time around.

April 9th (Thursday) – Landing in Connecticut evening time.
April 10th (Friday) – Engagement session in Connecticut.
April 11th (Saturday) – Free day in Boston and hoping to plan a little get together with some local Boston photographers. Possibly a photo safari after.
April 12th (Sunday) – Engagement session in Boston.
April 13th – April 15th (Monday – Wednesday) – Nothing planned yet. Possibly wedding planning and hopefully meet up with a few local Connecticut photographers.

April 16th (Thursday) – Leaving.

I know blog posts are boring without pictures.  So here’s a photo of something I’ve been trying to finish off in the last few weeks.  Thanks to my lovely clients Michael and Stacey for providing me with the fuel for my hyperness!

PHOTOS TO MAKE YOU DIZZY

On this beautiful friday in Orange County, I decided I was long overdue for a walk. Before you send me hate mail and say that everyday in Orange County is beautiful, well I can’t argue with that, but I’m saying .. ok never mind you win, I have no come back.

Anyhow, while cleaning out my camera bag for last weeks wedding, I needed to make space, which means I had to take stuff out that I wouldn’t or don’t use anymore like my Lens Baby lens. I actually don’t think I’ve used it at all at a wedding. It’s just so tricky to use, but I know when used right, you can get some decent photos. So on my walk today, I brought my camera and Lens Baby with me, so I can share with you my trippy walk around my neighborhood.

So do you think I should keep this lens around or should I retire it? Maybe I’ll just keep it around for when I’m bored and want to shoot trippy photos. So here is what I came up with today, oh and this is the old version 2.0 model that is a few years old. Have a great weekend!

WARNING DO NOT LOOK AT THESE PHOTOS BELOW AND DRIVE, CAN CAUSE SEVERE DIZZINESS.

BRIAN & ANNIE : WEDDING AT THE BETTY H. RECKAS CULTURAL CENTER

I’m so excited to finally share with you, Brian & Annie’s wedding from this past Saturday. These two are the nicest two people you’ll ever meet and after meeting their wonderful family and friends, it was just the icing on the cake. Not only did they have an amazing wedding, but they truly made their family, friends and guests feel like a part of it. Did I mention they dated as long as Helen and I have? Anyhow, their wedding was full of thoughtful and meaningful details and we were more than excited to be a part of it. So Brian & Annie, have a wonderful time on your honeymoon cruise and thanks for making the day so special for everyone!
