[B] SCHOOL DAY TRIPPIN’ : LAGUNA BEACH
Today, I felt like I needed to get out and get some fresh air and apparently, I wasn’t the only one. I joined a bunch of photographers down in Laguna Beach, who are all a part of the [b] school, to stretch our legs a bit and snap fun and random photos. Here is some randomness that I photographed. If you haven’t joined the [b] school yet, what are you waiting for? Come and join this awesome community! Special thanks to Joe Photo, for always organizing the day trippin’ days!

PAPETERIE : STUDIO OPENING
Papeterie just celebrated their grand opening this past week and I was waiting months to finally step foot into their wonderful new studio! If you haven’t heard of Papeterie, then I don’t know where you’ve been! I mean anyone that does invitations for Jessica Alba, is ok in my book!
At first, I meant to attend as a guest, but when Kim the owner of Papeterie asked me to photograph the event, I was more than happy to do so. Besides, nothing was really different for me. I still got to hangout with friends, meet new people, take photos of them and be spoiled by the wonderful Hawaiian food and desserts from Cakes By The Pound. Patrick, Kim’s husband, also gave us a demonstration on how the letter press works and gave a chance for anyone that wanted to try it out.
Here are just a few photos and details from the amazing night.

Ok I had to have at least one photo of myself from the night.

KOREAN BAEK-IL : 100 DAY CELEBRATION FOR CAILIN
While we were away in Connecticut, our close friends and clients, Esther and Scott, told us that they happen to be celebrating Cailin’s 100 day celebration or Baek-il. I know this celebration is such an important event in the Korean tradition and I was so honored when they asked me to photograph this day.
Cailin needed her naps that day, but I didn’t mind sneaking in and taking some photographs of her sleeping. She likes to cover her face when she sleeps and it’s the cutest thing!
If you noticed also in the middle right photo. We sure did rock a backdrop and studio lighting. It’s been awhile since I’ve used lighting, but it all came back to me.
I don’t normally post group photos, but can you blame me? The fall colors in Connecticut are amazing!

I’M BACK FROM CONNECTICUT!
It’s so great to be back in sunny California! Our trip was looong, but wonderful. Helen and I always try to plan as much stuff as possible whenever we visit home or anywhere else. We got so much of our wedding planning done and I can’t wait to share the details, but you’ll have to stay tuned for that!
Here are some random photos from our trip. The first one below was all shot on our iPhone’s. Helen gets extra photos of herself, since it was her birthday on October 20th. We celebrated in Houston of course.
And I later found out in Houston, that my parents have new children.. their chickens! We’ve been replaced!
Ah, the endless search for the best BBQ in Houston continues. We tried out Rudy’s and it was so great! Yup that’s right, fill up your stomach and car. They had a gas station there too. How convenient!
This is typical me now. Photographed at Quincy Market in Boston.
It never surprises me now, when I come home and see my brother fixing a car.
And while he’s fixing cars, I’m photographing his tools for my own art!
Typical New England fall!
My friend Tom who is a season ticket holder for the Celtics invited me to the home opener. Go Celtics!

Usually on the last days of our trip, Helen and I will make the long drive to Carmel, NY to visit her grandmother. She’s been gone now for 6 years and we miss her very much. Visiting her, is always such an emotional day for both of us still. These are the stairs that lead to her final resting spot.
And these are the final resting spots for many loved ones, including Helen’s grandmother.
