WEDDING AT THE MISSION & RITZ CARLTON : PART 1

What an awesome way to start 2009 with an amazing wedding! After a long holiday break, it’s great to be back shooting and doing what I love. This past Saturday I was able to be a part of a lovely wedding, which the ceremony was held at The Mission in San Juan Capistrano followed by an even lovelier reception at The Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel. It seemed like all of the great vendors were under one roof including, beautiful florals by Square Root Designs, coordinating by Susan MacDonald, lighting by Pro Audio and Mike the DJ.

I know it’s said often, but when you’re at a wedding, one common theme I always find, is the love of friends and family. There was so much love for this couple, getting ready for the next steps in life together, that it couldn’t just be heard, but felt. Just like tension in the air that can be cut with a knife, but in a good way!  There are actually 5 daughters in the family with this bride being number 4 to be married and only 1 more to go.  I think the father of the bride deserves an award for raising 5 awesome daughters!

To do this amazing wedding justice, I decided to break it down into 2 parts, the ceremony and reception. So stay tuned on Thursday for part 2 of this amazing wedding!

What’s a wedding without rings and shoes!

This had to be one of my favorite moments of the day.  The grooms mom hugging the groom and at the same time the father of the bride lifting her veil.

THE FOG

Happy Monday everyone! Last week, we had some crazy fog roll into Orange County and when I was driving, I literally couldn’t see 10 feet in front of me. Kind of reminded me of the crazy weather we’d have in Connecticut. Below is a photo that I took with my point and shoot, to show you what I mean.

This past Saturday I shot an amazing wedding and I can’t wait to share some photos with you all. So check back tomorrow for that!

HAPPY 2009!

Happy New Year everyone and I can’t believe that it’s finally here! On our drive home last night, I told Helen about my childhood growing up and how I pictured the “future” to be different. Now this is going back in the late 80’s and I was a kid, so excuse my fantasy world a bit. 2010 for me, growing up watching The Jetsons, was how I pictured the future. I figured by the time it’s 2010 we’d all be living in houses on polls and driving flying cars. And yes I had a normal childhood if you’re wondering. Where is this all going? I have no idea, but I just wanted to share with you a bit of my randomness that Helen gets to enjoy on a daily basis.

Ok getting back to the New Year. I’m not a fan of the whole resolution thing, so I’m not going to commit to any right now. I do however set goals for myself that I have neatly tucked away in a filing cabinet. Yes that’s right, in a filing cabinet! During the last week of 2008, I sat down for a few hours and reflected on things that I need to realistically accomplish for 2009. I say realistically because setting unrealistic goals, like winning the lottery, seems to a bit of a stretch for me. Here are some goals that I do plan on meeting for now and I’ll be adding more in the days to come. These goals are not just business related but also personal goals. Also, just to make sure I stay on top of things, I added this post to the “LINKS” tab up top.

NEW YEARS EVE

I just wanted to quickly wish everyone a fun and safe New Years Eve! See you all next year!!

BOILING HOT

There’s something so calming about drinking great tea. Helen says that I enjoy it more now because I’m getting older. I’m only in my late 20’s, so I don’t think I’m that old, plus what’s with the stereotype that older people drink tea? As a matter of fact, I’ve been drinking tea since I can remember and we always keep our place stocked with all kinds of tea. When there’s time, of course I drink the great tea’s, you know the ones that actually don’t come in tea bags. But when I need a quick fix of relaxation, I turn to Tazo for my fixes. I find it funny that depending on how I’m feeling that day, will help me decide on which tea to drink. Do you think that we can know how someone is feeling by the tea they drink? or maybe the type of tea really does say what kind of person you are. Who knows, but there’s probably a study out there that exists. Right now while I’m typing away at this post, I’m enjoying “Zen” Green Tea and trying to think about why I picked it today… hmmm..

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Well it’s finally here! A time to get together with friends and family and eat, eat, eat.. well that’s what we’ll be doing anyways and watching a ton of movies. I had such a fun year meeting new people and loving life! I want to thank all of my past, present and future clients for making this year super fantastic! I hope that makes sense, but this time of year I always feel extra appreciative. Happy Holidays everyone!!

I always feel dorky in photos, I don’t know why.

MY LIFE IN 16 SQUARES

I must admit, I bring my point and shoot camera everywhere I go and for good reason. I always find interesting things everywhere I go and I have an urge to document it. The only downfall is that the photos always stay on my point and shoot and don’t see the light of day for at least a month. I’m sure we all do this and for me since my point and shoot camera is my fun camera, I like to see what I’ve shot in the past month. For the photos that collected on my point and shoot this past month, were mostly from my trip back to Connecticut and some fun stuff that happened when I came back home.  You’ll probably see me do this more often for future blog posts, because I think it really does sum up what I’ve seen, what I’ve done and where I’ve been.

Here is my life or should I say my month in 16 squares.
