FASHION BRIDAL SHOOT : I

There’s just something so fun about gathering friends together and coming up with an idea for a photo shoot. Before I left for Houston, Quynh, my cousin and model, helped us organize a photo shoot right in Orange County. It ended up being a Bridal shoot in the woods and we somehow detoured into a real “Biker Bar”. But we kept shooting and it ended up being a lot of fun! A special thanks to our models, Quynh Khang, Scott Jemison and Tina Khong. And Vivian Tran from All Made Up, who styled this shoot and did a phenomenal job on the hair and makeup! THE GARDNER’S : MOUNT SAN JACINTO STATE PARK FAMILY PHOTOS

When Kay contacted me about photographing her family for their 09 Christmas card, I was honored and excited. But when she came up with the idea of photographing them in fresh snow, I nearly lost my mind with excitement! It’s been nearly 2 years since I’ve actually felt or seen real snow and when we arrived to Mount San Jacinto after a long trek by Ariel Tram, it felt like I was home again in Connecticut. Even their daughter Raffy was excited. I’m sure she would be, being that this was her first time seeing snow. If anyone wants their family photos taken in the snow, perhaps at Big Bear Mountain or any other unique or destination place, please contact me! Here are some of my favorites from their shoot and remember to click on the link below to see more!

KOREAN BAEK-IL : 100 DAY CELEBRATION FOR CAILIN

While we were away in Connecticut, our close friends and clients, Esther and Scott, told us that they happen to be celebrating Cailin’s 100 day celebration or Baek-il. I know this celebration is such an important event in the Korean tradition and I was so honored when they asked me to photograph this day.

Cailin needed her naps that day, but I didn’t mind sneaking in and taking some photographs of her sleeping. She likes to cover her face when she sleeps and it’s the cutest thing!

If you noticed also in the middle right photo. We sure did rock a backdrop and studio lighting. It’s been awhile since I’ve used lighting, but it all came back to me.
I don’t normally post group photos, but can you blame me? The fall colors in Connecticut are amazing!

LEATHER CRAFTSMEN ALBUMS

Every time I photograph a wedding, engagement session or portrait session, I always think about layouts, as you probably have seen the many collages on my blog. Sometimes photos look great by themselves, but other times, little details put together, completes a story, much like how an album layout is created. My album company of choice, has always been Leather Craftsmen. There are just so many endless choices and I get excited to create something that shows off my photos well and compliments the look I’m after. Take for example Annie and Brian’s wedding album, that I just delivered last week. Leather Craftsmen just amazes me every time they ring my doorbell and drop off an album. There’s just something special about opening the blue box and thumbing through the finished product.

Annie and Brian’s album is a 12×12, 50 page album, with an optional photo on the cover, optional spine engraving and optional matching slipcase.

RAFFAELLA’S 1ST BIRTHDAY : CHARMING BACKYARD BIRTHDAY PARTY PHOTOS

Last weekend, our good friends Steve and Kay’s daughter Raffaella, turned 1. I can’t believe it’s been a year! As usual, Kay or as we would like to call her the Martha Stewart of Torrance, did an amazing job on the details. It was such a charming backyard birthday party. Just the closest of friends and family were there to celebrate. And this was the first time I have ever witnessed a 1 year old, not terrorize the birthday cake. Steve and Kay had to put Raffaella’s hands in the cake, for her to warm up to it. But it was such a fun time! Here are some of the fun details and photos from the party.

QUYNH KHANG

Long before I even considered packing my bags, moving to California and pursuing a dream, my cousin Quynh was way ahead of me. Maybe that’s a family trait about being a “Khang”, we dream big and never take no for an answer! Quynh actually moved to California not for photography, but for acting. It’s been a passion of hers for many years now and I’m sure sooner or later, we’ll be seeing her face everywhere, so Hollywood look out! We photographed her headshots at one of my favorite places. And like me, she’s such a mixed bag, in a good way of course. You’ll see from the photos. There’s never a dull moment with Quynh. A special thanks also to Angelina of All Made Up, who once again did an amazing job on the hair and makeup.

KIM LE

I always get so excited when another photographer asks me to photograph them for some updated headshots. Maybe it’s because I feel so honored to do so. I was speaking with Kim about the shoot back in May, but we were finally able to schedule for yesterday to photograph her. It was also Kim’s Birthday a few days ago, so make sure you leave her some “Birthday Love!”

As you can see, we went out to one of my favorite spots for some awesome California light. Angelina of All Made Up did an amazing job on Kim’s hair and makeup, so thanks Angelina! Kim also needed fresh photos to update her site. I always think it’s a great idea! So without further ado, here is the lovely, fun and fabulous, Kim Le.
