MICHAEL & STACEY ENGAGED

Maybe I’m speaking for myself here, but as a former single guy, the only thing I ever asked for on my birthday, was for my best friend to bring my future wife to my birthday party. Was that to much to ask for? Ok so that never worked out for me and I’m glad! But for Michael, ask and you shall receive! Michael’s friend was dating Stacey’s friend and to make a long story short, they met at Michael’s birthday party through their friends and the rest is history.

This past weekend, I headed up to LA to meet up with Michael and Stacey. The day was perfect! Great weather in LA, non-crowded streets and extra daylight! What more can a photographer ask for? Besides hanging out with such a fun and down to earth couple of course. Their wedding will be in LA in May and I’m looking forward to it. Thanks again guys for the food experience at The Farmers Market and giving us a tour of LA.

this little puppy stopped by to say hi and wanted his picture taken apparently

VINH & JANET’S WEDDING

This past Saturday, I was so honored to shoot Vinh & Janet’s wedding. We had so much fun on their engagement session, that I knew their wedding day wouldn’t be any different and it wasn’t. Vinh & Janet are the kind of people that anyone would get along with. The way they look at each other and laugh at each other, is so contagious, in a good way of course. Everything that day went smoothly including the weather, which couldn’t make up it’s mind. I know I said I hated cloudy weather in the past, but I take that back. The light was absolutely amazing and you’ll see a ton of photos below because of it. Vinh & Janet, you both are so awesome, what more can I say than that. Helen and I had such a great time and ate way to much. We wish you guys all the best in the future. Here are some of my many favorites from the day.

gown: vera wang

hair & makeup: joyce luck style

videography: fps productions

ceremony: blessed sacrament church, westminster

JANET & VINH ENGAGED

This past Sunday I had so much fun shooting Janet & Vinh’s engagement session down at The Grove in LA and Venice Beach. They are getting married in just a few weeks and I’m so excited to be shooting their wedding too. The Grove was so packed that day well because it was a Sunday, but we still shot there anyways and shooting with primes with a narrow depth of field really helped out. Ok I’m getting technical. For my clients that are reading this, in other words I blurred the heck out of the backgrounds as much as I could. We had a crazy fun time that day. There were so many great places to shoot and the lighting there is always amazing. Just as we were getting close to finishing, of course we were finally stopped by security and were asked if we were shooting professionally here. I said no of course and well we shot there for a good two hours before they said anything, so I’m happy for that. We shot some video that day too which hopefully I’ll be sharing that with you all later on, but for now here are some of my favorites from the day.

Meet Janet & Vinh.

Running through the Farmers Market.

Vinh decided that Janet needed a foot rub. What a nice guy.

Originally we wanted to have Janet stand in the cart and have Vinh push her around, but we weren’t sure if it was built for that. We opted for this moment here instead. You carts are safe, this time.

It got a little hot and heavy between the caution signs and the mini animal statues.

We had so much great light that day.

As you can see there were tons of people walking by, but it’s all good.

One of my favorite portraits.

And one of my favorite moments.

Yup we got a little silly. They had the funniest baby gear there and I think Vinh and Janet were being to honest?

Enjoying some live music.

I love the way they look at each other.

We ended the day with some more fun in Venice.

And we even had time to build this sand castle.

Another one of my favorite moments that day.

Crazy kids.

I told them to give me a funny face and this is what I got. I love surprises.
