I have so much to share and so much to blog, but what better way to kick things off, then with Chendal and Geoffrey’s wedding. They had 2 separate beautiful ceremonies, so I only felt it was right to blog them individually. We’ll start with the morning ceremony, which was dedicated to the Cambodian tradition and culture. If you haven’t attended a Cambodian wedding ceremony before, I do hope you get to be a part of one. It’s so full of colors from the various outfits and emotional from the different parts of the ceremony. You definitely don’t have to understand the language, to understand the significance. There were so many key parts of the day, that I tried not to leave any parts out. Stay tuned for party 2 of their wedding, which was held at the beautiful Turnip Rose in Newport Beach.
It was a foggy morning that day, but it didn’t take away from the day at all.

Helen captured this little pass by moment in the hallway and I just love it! (upper right corner photo)

There is a meaning behind pretending to cut the bride and grooms hair. But someone actually cut Geoffrey’s hair and you can see it on his sleeve.

This is how many people it takes to dress the bride.

LEATHER CRAFTSMEN ALBUMS
Every time I photograph a wedding, engagement session or portrait session, I always think about layouts, as you probably have seen the many collages on my blog. Sometimes photos look great by themselves, but other times, little details put together, completes a story, much like how an album layout is created. My album company of choice, has always been Leather Craftsmen. There are just so many endless choices and I get excited to create something that shows off my photos well and compliments the look I’m after. Take for example Annie and Brian’s wedding album, that I just delivered last week. Leather Craftsmen just amazes me every time they ring my doorbell and drop off an album. There’s just something special about opening the blue box and thumbing through the finished product.
Annie and Brian’s album is a 12×12, 50 page album, with an optional photo on the cover, optional spine engraving and optional matching slipcase.

BLINK AND DANCE
I feel like I just blinked and 2 months has passed in an instant. While enjoying my daily Starbucks this morning and before even touching my keyboard or mouse, which has the distinct hand mark as if it had never left my hand, I sat quietly. Slurping my coffee and sitting on the comfy brown couch, waiting to wake up. I slowly cracked open the blinds in my office, letting the harsh daylight in. As the gears in my brain started to turn slowly, I reflected on this past weekends weddings. As tired as I may be and as sore as my body keeps telling my brain, I loved every minute of it. The first two words that come to mind that describes this weekend is family and celebration. Love is an obvious one that I don’t have to mention since they all go hand in hand. This weekends weddings were so much fun. So much so, that at times, I wanted to dance. And if you know me, I don’t have one once of dance skill ability besides doing a lame Running Man. I think I still remember how to do the Cabbage Patch too, but I’m saving that for a special occasion.
Instead of giving you a visual of me doing the Running Man or Cabbage Patch, I think you’ll enjoy a nice preview of what’s to come on the blog.

JACQUI & BRANDON : THE BRIARS INN DUNLEITH MISSISSIPPI WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
As you all know, I traveled last week to the small town of Natchez, Mississippi, to photograph a wedding with Tuan from Two One Studio. It was really my first time traveling to the south and now I can say, that I understand southern hospitality. Everyone there is so welcoming and friendly! I spent the morning with the guys while they were getting ready, while Tuan was with the girls. The wedding ceremony was held at The Dunleith and the wedding reception took place at The Briars. Here are some photos from this beautiful southern wedding. Be sure to checkout Tuan’s blog for more photos.
Jacqui nearly lost it when her mother veiled her.

FIRST DANCE : FILM
I just wanted to share a photo that I took from a wedding back in July. This was the couples first dance and I love the emotion in the photo. This was photographed in near darkness with Fuji Neopan 1600 film. There’s something so timeless about film isn’t there?

SAM & TINA : WEDDING AT THE PELICAN HILL RESORT : WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Last weekend, I joined Jeremy for a beautiful wedding at The Resort at Pelican Hill. I was with the guys photographing them getting ready, while Jeremy was with the ladies. It was such an emotional, fun filled day. Here are some photos.

The groom surprised the guys with special cigars.
How’s this for a first look reaction!
I really loved her bouquet, but I’m not sure if it’s Tulips?
The bridesmaids flowers were used throughout the wedding.

Some ceremony details.

The tea ceremony was very emotional, even for me.

Yup, they ended up with a little cake fight after this photo.
Rings and Cake!
The little girl stole the show and not to mention stole the flowers from the girl in the black dress. She ran in and caught them at the right time. I love the reactions in the next 2 photos.
